Coming into Alberta proved to be toughest on Max. He ended up with a raging allergic reaction to something. It couldn’t be narrowed down as EVERYTHING in his environment changed. Toys. Food. Weather. Housing. Co -existing animals.
We have him some bendryl. In small doses but that didn’t do anything. He got more swollen and stuffy and lost a lot of facial pignment around his nose and gums.
We looked up Gareth and Tania’s very via Whiskeys massive paw print. They have a great vet in Edmonton. The Belle Rive Clinic. He was stunned ay how bad Max was…. whixh wad better than a few days before. But I felt like CRAP for letting it get that bad before going. $430.00 later he was on heavy antibiotics and two other medications. Hoping to have it clear his system faster and get him better. On the scales he had lost 12lbs. With his size it wasn’t really noticeable.
Days of lethargy passed for him and now 6 days in he’s getting better. He spent several sleeping and would tuck himself in to bed and not get up till 3pm.
This morning he was more alert. Eating more and happier vs just dopey. It had been weird to watch that
